Railway

Flatness, lightness and structural strength are the features that make Wallflex panel suitable for the realization of platforms and accessories for rail cars.

Lightness, certified non combustibility and compression and flexion resistance of aluminum Wallflex panel make it suitable for many applications in railway field.

Aluminum Wallflex panel is ideal for railway field:

  • Lightness coupled with rigidity
  • Excellent corrosion resistance
  • Non combustible MED certified
  • Good noise reduction
  • Dimensional stability
  • High workability through standard machines, similar to ones used for wooden working
  • Ease of installation
  • 100% recyclable
  • Wide range of surface finishes (included powder painting)

Frequent Applications

The main railway applications are:

  • Modular floors
  • Wall covers
  • Ceiling elements
  • Curved parts and technical shaped hatches
  • Partition walls
  • Technical cabinets and inspection hatches

Ceilings and flat elements

Wallflex panel is lightweight, resistant and dimensionally stable. Therefore, this panel is ideal for ceilings installation, for it does not require anchor points. Moreover, thanks to aluminum Wallflex shaped panel, it is possible to realize even curved ceiling elements.

Flooring

In a railway vehicle, the flooring is subjected to high loads, both distributed and concentrated. Also, it must be sufficiently stable in order to allow the fixing of seats or other structures.

The structural aluminum Wallflex panel, thanks to its high resistance to bending and to its dimensional stability, is suitable for this application, at the same time making lighter the railway vehicle. In addition, it is possible to insert heating cables inside the corrugated core, to include the heating function within the floor, achievable thanks to the thermal conductivity of the aluminum Wallflex panel.

Partition walls

Thanks to lightness of aluminum Wallflex panel, it can also be used for the construction of compartments’ walls and doors. In addition, aluminum Wallflex panels may have different surface finishes, including powder coating, allowing to have a finished product that well integrates in the remaining part of the railway structure.
